Hi, I’m Eleanor and today I want to talk about a recent change that has caused quite a bit of frustration in the community. In the past, Chief Officers of both the Royal Guards and the Metropolitan Police Service had the ability to sanction players who broke the rules or abused their roles, which kept professionalism and quality roleplay intact.
However, recently, a significant change has been made: the Chief Officers no longer have the responsibility to issue sanctions, but instead, it’s now up to the official moderators, LiveShield. This has created a major concern, as now players can break the rules without facing any sanctions, as long as they don’t directly disrupt the gameplay of others. This means that, for example, a player can shoot into the air without any reason, or use a knife without justification, without being penalized, as long as they don’t affect other players.
This has led to a situation where more and more players are violating the rules without consequences. Recently, I recorded a video where some Royal Guards were using knives without reason, and running around the map when they should have been at their posts. This behavior clearly goes against the Royal Guard Handbook, which should be respected by all players.
I decided to open a ticket to report this situation, as these Royal Guards were directly violating the rules. But the response I received was disappointing. They told me that they couldn’t find anything noteworthy in the video I provided, and although the recruits were going inside Buckingham Palace (which goes against the Handbook), it hadn’t caused significant disruption to gameplay. Essentially, the response was that no one would be sanctioned because there was no clear abuse of roles or equipment.
This is a problem, because now players know they can break the rules without consequences, and that affects everyone’s experience. My suggestion is that we return to the old system, where the Chief Officers of the Royal Guards and the Metropolitan Police had the authority to sanction players who violated the rules.
I hope the team considers this change and reverts it to improve the experience for everyone. Thanks for listening, and I hope action will be taken soon!
