Suggestion: A Controlled Royal VIP Transport Helicopter for the King Gamepass(UPDATE)
Hello Volute team,
I would like to suggest adding a single, controlled Royal VIP Transport Helicopter as a feature connected to the King gamepass.
This proposal is not intended to be a full RAF team, Red Arrows feature, combat aviation system, or large aerial expansion. It is only a suggestion for one limited, non-combat VIP transport helicopter for official royal roleplay.
This is intended to be a small extension of the existing NPAS system, not a new aviation feature.
The core idea is simple:
The King would never pilot the helicopter personally — only request royal air transport, while an authorised NPAS pilot or approved aviation player operates the aircraft.
This keeps the feature realistic and avoids the main concern that the Monarch could troll, crash, or misuse the helicopter.
- Real-world basis
The British Royal Family has used dedicated helicopter transport for official travel. A royal helicopter system in-game could reflect this in a simplified way.
This would not be a fictional military expansion. It would be closer to a VIP transport service connected to royal events, similar in concept to how official royal transport is handled in real life.
The helicopter would exist for roleplay purposes such as state visits, royal movements, official ceremonies, and emergency evacuation scenarios.
- Who operates the helicopter
The King would not fly the helicopter.
Suggested operation:
• Pilot: NPAS-qualified player or authorised aviation personnel
• Optional co-pilot: NPAS / SO14 / authorised Royal Protection member
• Passengers: King, Royal Family members, Prime Minister, visiting heads of state, or authorised guests
The Monarch would be a passenger only.
This means the feature would not give the King free access to fly around the map. It would require another qualified player to operate it, similar to a controlled VIP transport service.
- Request and dispatch flow
A possible system could work like this:
Step 1: The King or Private Secretary opens the Private Secretary tablet.
Step 2: They select “Request Royal Air Transport.”
Step 3: The request is sent to on-duty NPAS pilots and possibly SO14 / Royal Protection command.
Step 4: An authorised pilot accepts the request.
Step 5: The helicopter spawns only after:
• A royal transport request exists
• A qualified pilot has accepted it
• The cooldown has passed
• No other Royal Helicopter is already active
Step 6: Royal Protection escorts the King to the helipad.
Step 7: The helicopter completes the transport roleplay and then returns to base or despawns.
This would prevent the helicopter from being treated as a normal personal vehicle.
- Spawn and despawn rules
To keep the feature controlled, I suggest strict limits:
• Maximum of one Royal Helicopter per server
• 10-minute cooldown between requests
• Spawns only after a qualified pilot accepts
• Despawns after inactivity
• Despawns if the King leaves the server
• Cannot be freely spawned by the King
• Cannot be used as a general patrol or pursuit aircraft
Possible spawn locations:
• Buckingham Palace garden helipad
• NPAS base
• Another designated royal transport point if more suitable
This keeps the helicopter rare and event-based rather than constantly active.
- Aircraft and development scope
To reduce development cost, the helicopter could be based on the existing NPAS helicopter system instead of requiring a completely new aviation system.
Suggested aircraft setup:
• One helicopter only
• Royal claret / red and gold livery
• Crown or royal emblem
• Same flight performance as NPAS
• Same sound system as NPAS
• No weapons
• No police pursuit equipment
• No surveillance camera
• VIP transport interior if practical
• Royal Standard flag when the King is onboard, if possible
This would make it mostly a controlled re-skin and dispatch feature rather than a new aircraft system.
- Roleplay uses
This feature could support multiple roleplay scenarios:
• State visit arrivals
• Royal convoy departures
• Emergency evacuation drills
• Royal tours
• Prime Minister or cabinet transport for special events
• Ceremonial arrivals during major server events
• Royal Protection training scenarios
The benefit would not be limited only to the King. It could also create roleplay for:
• NPAS pilots
• SO14 / Royal Protection
• Royal Guards
• Met Police
• Cabinet members
• Civilians and journalists watching royal movements
So while the feature is connected to the King gamepass, the actual roleplay value would involve multiple divisions.
- Abuse prevention
The main concern with a royal helicopter is abuse.
To prevent that:
• The King cannot pilot it
• The King cannot freely spawn it
• A qualified pilot must accept the request
• Only one can exist per server
• It has no weapons
• It has no pursuit role
• It cannot replace NPAS
• It is only for official royal transport roleplay
If the King is not roleplaying properly, the pilot or authorised command could refuse the request.
This system makes trolling significantly harder than freely-spawnable vehicles, since multi-player coordination is required for every flight.
- Why this is different from previous aerial suggestions
I understand that larger aerial suggestions such as RAF teams, Red Arrows, military aircraft, and full air force systems have been declined before.
This suggestion is different because it does not require:
• A new air force team
• Multiple aircraft
• Combat systems
• Weapons
• A new airspace system
• New military ranks
• Flyover events
• A full aviation expansion
It is only a limited VIP transport feature using the existing helicopter framework where possible.
If any part of this still feels too large in scope, I would be happy to simplify or adjust it further.
- Summary
• One Royal VIP Transport Helicopter
• Connected to the King gamepass
• King is passenger only
• Flown by NPAS-qualified or authorised pilots
• Requested through the Private Secretary tablet
• Maximum one per server
• Cooldown to prevent spam
• No weapons or pursuit role
• Based on existing NPAS helicopter systems where possible
• Used only for official royal transport roleplay
• Creates RP for NPAS, SO14, Royal Guards, Met Police, civilians, journalists, and government roles
I believe this could improve the King gamepass while remaining low-impact, controlled, and realistic within the current game systems.
Thank you for considering this proposal, and for continuing to develop such a detailed Buckingham Palace experience.
