There’s an IRL unit of RMP called RMP Close Protection Unit(CPU) and they’re RMP x CP. So adding a Sub-Class to CP for RMP people would be great. Especially if there’s a situation where VIPs are being held in BP or DS, they need to evacute. And plus, they’re RMP. Royal MILITARY Police. Who wouldnt like to do a full BP sweep as Military.
I would say this would be great addition to RMP however the fact that RG may sometimes misbehave might make it impossible for them to do close protection duties.

That would be to much duties for RMP and the academy would take much more time than it already does. I would not say that this is necessary but it could be fun tho.
This is a good suggestion, but maybe turning this into a division.
I mean it doesn’t have to be part of their main duties, it could be like the other divisons that have sub divisons part of them such as how MO19 has TST and that, the RMP Close Protection Unit could be a separate qualification that people could be selected to do and could be put up for the higher SNCO ranks such as SGT or SSGT
This was already mentioned back when I was Major of RMP and we did discuss it at the time with RG HQ. Best bet is to talk to RMP HQ and see what happens.
What if they had different duties. Like IST or TST, that have different RoE and duties.
They already got an qualification that can give them different duties

I disagree, I think it’s a bit ridiculous. Just keep it simple with the three sub classes we have right now.
Doubt it would get added regardless with how little the Royal Guard team has been updated over the time period of the game being out

I agree, there is too much divisions and classes within BP.
Looking back at this with all the new age restrictions coming in global, this would honestly be the peak for RMP as now RMPs duties are heavily restricted/affected by the age restrictions. It would quite frankly enhance and bring more variety to duties other than policing guards in utter silence, so this would be amazing. And what Araf said, it’s the TST/IST version of RMP, different RoE and regulations.
Maybe it could be available when there is two CP RMP whatsits, and 2 normal RMP. It’s so you can protect VIPs whilst normal RMP deals with coldstream.
This won’t happen for a variety of reasons. CP is already covered by MET and in the future by MET Specialists in terms of SO1. RMP CPU typically do not operate within the UK, only providing protection to senior BAF officials overseas (in combat zones). For UK CPU operations, protection is only typically provided to those at the very top (think the CDS, CGS etc.) and the current rank structure does not apply to this (max rank is Brigadier).
RMP already has a lot as it is, especially with vehicles, tasers etc which are all very useful in a BP scenario. This would just take more away from MET and those who have paid for the CP gamepass will be unhappy that CPU may overstep.
