Met armed police

Give met armed police weapons with weapon mounted lights on them.
Add in less lethal weapons like the Heckler & Koch HK69A1 as well as giving standard armed response officers the ability to equip ballistic helmets and ballistic shields.

The mounted lights would be effective, especially in dark situations with little lighting. Armed police already use it, so it would become more realistic. Don’t know how ballistic shields would work, as there (said by an AFO) are mostly used indoors and rarely outside.

Ballistic shields are great for standoffs

Personally I would lock balistic shields for certain divisions like GG and TJs due to situations that we can get to like hostage situations etc

Lights are a great idea and maybe NVGs for serious divisions like trojans and GG

We have NVGs but it’s just texture.

Ballistic shields should be available to all armed units no matter what division

Than it will be abused. As stated before it should be locked for Combative divisions (TJs, GGs and AFOs qualified). If it would be accesible for every armed unit it will be abused and unballanced for civs (ARVs will rush them with shield and cuff them so civs will have no chance).

You could say that about any tool the police use as I have seen response police run into a situation involving a armed person and just ran in there and tased him and arrested him instead of letting me handle the situation as I was the armed officer on scene. It would make sense though that armed officers had ballistic shields that offered some additional protection and then AFO and Trojan could have more protective shields that would protect them for longer and against more powerful weapons

Actually, we can give ARV use Mich2000 hemlet, MO19 use fast hemlet
