Give COs the power to suspend people again

This wasn’t the only issue though. We have also talked about the slow response time from moderators attending tickets. RMP and COs are having to wait hours if not days just to get them to do something, and half the time nothing gets done because its not a moderation offense. Like people have said the handbooks don’t really matter anymore because people just get away with everything now and don’t follow them. Most people don’t even read them because they know they can get away with everything. Also the other 55 people, which are COs and RMP who are not moderators (The ones with the problem) are the ones complaining because these are real issues. I get that because your not a CO or RMP you don’t always see it but now you have heard from so many COs and RMP and seen how many people want this change I think its about time something happens. At first we didn’t like the change but we gave it ago anyway. It worked out semi ok at first but now that its been happening for a while its dropped off and gone down hill way to much.

Nice statement coming from a moderator, must want to keep that power you got there

Coming from a LiveShield Moderator and a RG CO here, I much preferred the sanctioning system when it was upheld by the actual Commissioned Officers because well it kept trolls at bay, if there was trolls they would be dealt with in a swiftly manner and everyone in the server would actually be able to play properly without having to be killed etc, also it just makes sense for the Officer of that team to sanction the players which it fits for general roleplay sense and well actual balance sake as the CO’s were handing out these sanctions quite swiftly and effectively and people eventually learnt from their mistakes or such when recieving a sanction, I would much prefer as a LiveShield moderator to only focus on actual game rules such as the Roblox Community Standards and Role Misuse in teams such as the Monarch etc, I shouldn’t have to be looking into Royal Guards messing about etc when the CO’s are fully capable of doing so and I have full faith in their sanctioning side.

No more power than I had before, not sure what you’re trying to get at here. LiveShield have always been able to moderate the teams for game rule violations.

We already did this and we got nothing, the only thing that can help us is CO sanction powers.

Holy preach

Has been suggested since last year MULTIPLE TIMES, we (yes we), have never gotten it. Even if we had a working custody system (in our dreams), alts would be a major issue. A custody system wouldn’t patch all of this.

As @V1BE5 said-

mag dumps their entire L85

“Might’ve been an accident”

A lot of people want change because the new sanctioning system prefers trolls. They allow guards and constables to go wherever they want, do whatever they want, and much more. I don’t think the old disciplinary system was “harsh”- I think the reminder I received on the very first day of playing the game for stabbing people and going AWOL was very deserved. Now, I wouldn’t have received that at all with the new sanctioning system, and I wouldn’t have learned my lesson.

I am a former moderator at LiveShield and currently a Second Lieutenant of Royal Guards, and since I have also served as a Second Lieutenant nearly 12 months ago as well, let me tell the difference of how we used to sanction and what its effects were on the game as well -

(1) When COs could sanction RG -
We had the power to sanction RG regarding RG Rules. What that meant is, we could sanction RG outside BP, we could sanction RG on roof, we could sanction for Standing Orders and much more.
It would make the RG team look more organized and disciplined.

(2) When LiveShield sanctions RG -
If you see a RG on roof, nothing can be done. Why? Because they aren’t breaking the “game rules” nor are they “disrupting the gameplay” of others.
If you see a RG outside BP, nothing can be done. Why? The same as above.
If you see a violation of Standing Orders, nothing can be done? Why? Ofcourse the same as above.
If you see a RG illegally discharging their firearm, obviously that is supposedly “disrupting the gameplay”, but by the time LiveShield responds to it, that guardsman would have mass killed almost everyone in the server.

As a CO in that case, all we can do is cuff them, and they can so very easily LTAA and rejoin.

Now you guys might question that “COs may also respond to tickets very slowly.”

Let me tell you one thing -
LiveShield has about 50 people who are responsible for sanctioning RG, MPS, LAS, and ofcourse real “rule breakers” as well. With new games coming from volute, LS would be busy there as well.
Royal Guard’s Officer Team has more than 75 people, DEDICATED for only RG matters. We guys literally wait for tickets and a ticket for RG has on an average 1-5 minutes response time.

I strongly agree with HarriRobinson1502 [OP], Maj. VeganToeses and Lt. suszimaru1992 on the same and would want the reversal of transfer of powers to LiveShield.

Adding onto RG ticket response time vs LS, we take about 1-10 minutes to respond. LS with their very high volume of tickets take hours even days to answer. With CO’s getting their power back it would get people sanctioned quicker, now CO’s tend to be more active in BP. especially divisional CO’s when there is an event. You would always see a CO join at some point.

I can confirm this. Whenever I opened a RG enquiry/report, I got an answer and got it shut in 1-5 minutes MAX. However, Liveshield don’t do anything about abusers and take on average, two days to respond. RG/CO’s were phenomenal at handling tickets.

As a former Major who retired before the rule was changed in this matter. If this happened when I was commissioned I would have instantly resigned. It’s not something that should have happened in the first place. Removing this made it easier for people to troll and make the game way less enjoyable to actually roleplay. People can just goof off and basically have no repercussions.

You’re definitely a troll

He is, he is the most annoying person for CO’s and possibly RMP

LiveShield never used to handle rogue guardsmen disrupting gameplay unless it had to do with moderation, so yes you do have more authority with this new change and you want to keep that authority

Personally I don’t think strictly punishing people for rule violations is a huge issue, they should be prepared to go on duty using the handbook, etc. If COs are too strict they could’ve just changed the rules for every COs sanction powers. But I agree with the CO sanction power along with LS sanctions.

The Chief Officers, with all respect to them, are over the top sometimes with people who don’t follow the rules. Yes, people should not be breaking the rules in the first place; however, I do not agree with the way in which CO’s do it. When people are not following the rules, we should be getting across the message that this is not okay, but we forgive you for it because not everyone is perfect. INSTEAD of, in my view, CO’s treating it as someone totally and utterly BEYOND REDEMPTION and putting in a report to LiveShield! May I make clear that this applies ONLY to the minor offences where a CO felt suspension was a viable option!

So what I ask to the CO’s is this: Do CO’s enjoy ruining someone else’s day, and do they seek joy from getting someone lower than them suspended?

At the end of the day, none of us know what is going on in someone else’s life, so we shouldn’t jump to suspend someone unless they are genuinely doing something THAT SERIOUS.

This is just my view though and I’d be happy to hear your thoughts.

I’d like to thank everyone for providing detailed feedback on this issue. We have taken it into account and made internal changes which will address these issues.
