Change to the application system

When you are making an application are you trying your hardest to try and get into that division while a higher ranking person in another role like RG has just been fast tracked because they are more known In the BP community so they can be trusted well im the same the application system is a joke it should be that you are tested individually by a member of staff and they should do the trainings as if you were apart of it. They should welcome you into a division like they do qualification trainings anyone can join them if they have passed the qualifications needed like if you wanted to join LAS CCT then you would have to have a LAS qualification because when you are doing an application and they do situation questions they are confusing because how do you know how the person you are dealing with will carry out the situation like they could just say sorry and the situation is done in one sentence or there could be arguing and it would take longer. That’s why I say they should accept you as if you were doing a qualification training.

This is unrealistic. Doing testing individually would be lengthy and exhausting. Applications are standardised and gives everyone the same chance. Ones reputation within BP is not the sole reason they may get fast-tracked as they may have other attributes as a higher rank.

it’s not difficult to get a spot in divisions at all, you just need the knowledge required for it and you need to know how to structure your answers. this suggestion is completely confusing and unnecessary

Funny how people who already have a very high rank in BP are the ones that’s are talking see how there are no people on low ranking divisions

i wont lie i agree with the comments on this one, i get where you are coming from but 1 yes it would be extreamly exhausing to the staff on BP as they also have real lives and i assume real life jobs, as well as this it would be really unrealistic. If you apply for example to MO19 you have to show an expression of intrest via a paper sive first of all, after that you then start to reecive your training if you pass it. The only thing which i wish was added to the forms (which i know wont be) would be a section to say if you are dyslexic or not etc as i stugglde with my basic SPAG as part of that.

Yes I totally agree with that I’ve been back and for with moderation about this and they are like applications are there for a reason so nothing can be done about it and then they close the tickets without telling me.

Before you reply to me about being fastracked I didn’t receive any of that. I applied for what was then called the Direct Entry Program, and worked my way up from Deputy Commander.

Applications are a way for us to assess candidates on whether their character fits the division. Our divisions are strong communities, where everyone gets along, keeping things enjoyable. There is no point hosting trainings to assess skills, as these can be taught. What we aim to see in applications is who are the well rounded, friendly, mature characters, that would work well with our team. We also look for who has the dedication to submit a well written application.

I can’t speak for any divisions except my own but MPS does no fasttracking whatsoever. We recruit solely from applications. Furthermore, when reading applications we do not look at usernames, so every single applicant is given a 100% fair chance. The majority who fail to get into a division are submitting half-assed, 3 sentence applications. Frankly if an individual cannot put the effort in to even type a couple of gramatically correct paragraphs, why would the command team want to put the effort in to host multiple modules, which accumulate to many hours of time, to train this individual.

Then there is no point of having divisions. They are here for you to show your skills and dedication. You also need a good knowledge. I tried until I passed Taskforce (today MO7) apps. This would kill the “special” in division. So there is acctually no point of this.

Im the lowest rank CO, and I say applications aren’t that bad

nearly every CO on this post has gone through a training of some sort to get to where they are today, frankly applications are a good thing for every division as you don’t want some random who may have a bad history getting into lets say GG for example as it looks bad upon the divison, applications let the person reading them get an insight into who is applying and if they would be fit for the role, so making it just trainings instead of apps wouldn’t really give that insight on a person.

Uh, because they’re HQ of that division? Ever thought of that?

Love the response I must say, the only think that I would acutlly like see added to the application system is the implimention of something that you can tick if you concider yourself to have lerning disibilites (dsylexia for example) as in real like senarios the officers direct supervison would be aware if anything like that was an issue and it can SOMETIMES be taken into concideration when applying for differant roles etc

Hiya for context, I was one of the lowest ranking constables in Trojan (now MO19) and have been in a grand total of 3 specialist divisions and am familiar with a lot of application systems and the point is to assess interest in the division and see that if you are worth training and molding into a fully qualified constable/paramedic/guardsmen. The system is sufficient as it is to gauge interest and ability.

Fast tracks are done because it’s individuals who have displayed positive contributions in the community plus various other factors and usually individuals who have great expertise and experience.

I likewise wasn’t handed anytime but simply passed applications and worked my way up and that is the solution to your issue.

Hello, I disagree with your suggestion. Applications aren’t that difficult. I got in Grenadier Guards as Corporal and later in Trojan as Sergeant. You just have to try to get in division or just apply for division just for fun. I always wanted to join Taskforce (MO7) but I never got in. Mostly divisions you are not interested in are most fun. I applied for Trojan just because I wanted to see if I get in although I didn’t wanted to get in and look I’m in Trojan/MO19 for 7 months now.
