Well, combat based divisions within RG (GG + RMP) should have at minimum an AFO tag or a badge to show that they are that a part of those divisions. Now you may ask, why is this necessary? Well, as those are combat divisions, they know how to deal with hostage situations and other things. Think of them as SFO , just without the SFO qualifications. By having this badge, it would symbolise a priority in the hostage situation (same as a regular off duty MO19 being on ARV team) allowing for them to take lead over other ARVs that may be there. Of course, same principles will apply with MO19 + CO taking charge of hostage situations if available.
I disagree. Hostage situations require various trainings— that’s why MO19 exists. Just being part of a semi-combat division like GG or RMP doesn’t qualify someone to take lead. If someone wants that responsibility, they should join MO19.
Hence why, ADDITIONAL trainings can be put in place (qualification) that allow for slight more authority than a regular ARV. Note: I said MO19 still has authority if they are available.
Also in that case Met Co should not have any priority either considering they are not combat trained??
Met COs go through multiple trainings and therefore receive the qualification.
No wouldn’t make sense at all giving royal guard personnel a MPS qualification.
Blue ticket will be aviable to all constables soon so you will be able to get it
Also as Rob said. MO19 came through both MO19 and Trojan trainings so we are trained to deal with various situations.
AFOs, SFOs etc are in the MET, not the royal guard, if you want to be classed as an AFO or SFO or whatever you want to call it, you have to join MO19 and complete training. RG divisions are not a police force (or fully combat based on the way MO19 is), so they shouldn’t be given policing roles. Making them AFOs makes no sense whichever way you look at it.
COs don’t need to be combat trained to have joint priority as MO19. They know how to ensure that the plan decided on is followed, and they usually just allow MO19 to decide on the plan and are there to assist in executing it. GG on the other hand are not in any shape or form a police force, and aren’t trained like COs or MO19. I don’t see why you’d want to make RG like the MPS, if you want to do what the MPS does, you have the option to join.
Training already exists, that is the purpose of MO19. Adding another one that trains you for the same thing doesn’t make sense.
