Something already used in other Roblox games like Emergency Response LC is an ANPR system in cars which is an Automatic Number Plate Recognition system. Basically this can check number plates of cars from cameras on police cars to see if the driver of the car is wanted for any charges or if the vehicle has been flagged for suspicious activity. This would make it easier for Police to find people who are wanted in cars and stop them. A car could be flagged for speeding from speeding cameras, or running red lights for example.
Also the car can have an inbuilt speed detection device to measure the speed of cars around it so you can detect speeding more easily and pull people over. It could alert you if someone is going over the speed limit, this could be implemented in the existing speed gun.
I believe that if this is implemented, it should only be implemented for MO8.

It should be for all MET, it’s difficult to get people on the speed cameras and to check car’s registration

Well I don’t think police cars in the UK normally have ANPR. But specialist divisions suck as MO8 do. Therefore I believe that having it on all cars would be unrealistic.
They do though, look at the cars in the game with the anpr liveries
Not every normal response car has ANPR. It depends on the force, the area, and how well-equipped the vehicle is. ANPR is more commonly found in:
• Roads Policing Units (RPUs)
• ARVs
• Specialist operations or proactive teams
Some regular response vehicles might have ANPR, especially in larger or better-funded forces, but it’s not guaranteed. It’s definitely not standard across all basic patrol units.
(That’s in real life btw)

But yeah not every car has it. They can still add it for ARVS and the other divisions
I agree this would be very beneficial & realistic for Met Operations 8; the traffic unit – to have, as they are literally trained in properly using such equipment.

Indeed, every single MPS car having it would be unrealistic, it would also place normal response police closer to the MO8 level. MO8 are Advanced Drivers, capable of handling high risk pursuit, therefore I see no need in any other unit or division having it other than MO8.

Yes, every car having it would be unrealistic. It would be good more some met cars for people who aren’t in m08 to have it though
Specialised equipment like this should be locked for MO8 usage only. Otherwise it’s a pretty neat idea!

I hope they add this feature

Going back to this. ANPR is on the Benson for response police and ARVs but it should be the other vehicles that have ANPR labelled on them. You don’t really need training to use the ANPR, it’s not that hard to use and it does the work for you but reading the number plates. It wouldn’t be realistic to restrict it just to MO8.
How would ANPR benefit you
because we can track cars and therefore track suspects
You can’t really track vehicles using the built-in vehicle ANPR, you can do so using the phone app, which is accessible for all, I believe.
you can get number plates from cars passing and additional information. the number plates can be entered into anpr. It makes the process a lot easier. How does the vehicle anpr help you? Why should it just be restricted to divisions? I am confused as to why you’re against this tbh. Are you upset?
I’m not against it. Either get it when the vehicle is stationary or when the vehicle is moving. I don’t have any issue with giving non-divisional vehicles the ANPR. However, I also believe that MPS have received enough buffs in the recent updates, and that the game is balanced now.
Idk, doesn’t seem like it to me. We keep getting rammed by civs which doesn’t really make it fair. Hopefully a solution can be reached that will benefit everyone.
