Just give the permissions back to CO’s. Liveshield has so many tickets to handle at once giving them more on their plate. Now all these tickets make answer times take up to 2 days, letting CO’s sanction a response will only take an hour or so. The longer it takes to get a response the longer the abuser will keep abusing making people annoyed. I have seen this game have up to 400 players at once, like 20 servers. Now I only see 5-7 servers and less than 200 players at once. This is all because of the abusers. Liveshield doesn’t actually do anything also, unless it disrupts gameplay then they haven’t done anything wrong. What annoys me is the teams having handbooks, the handbooks are legit USELESS! You know why? Because people don’t listen to it, they know Liveshield doesn’t punish. The abusers is the downfall for this game, I know it isn’t Liveshields fault as they were kinda forced to have this. Just revert it though, Liveshield needs less on their plate and abusers need to be stopped quicker.
Also lets look at the activity of Liveshield and CO’s. CO’s are normally on the game much more than Liveshield. I am not saying Liveshield is proper inactive and needs to get more activity but CO’s are on game more than them. With Liveshield not always being online and living their life there could be CO’s who is in game, who have finished living their life for the day and if there is an abuser they can be handled quicker. Reverting this would have less abusers in game.
Now strictness, I have been told it was changed as CO’s were to strict when it comes to punishments. Well then, why didn’t team HQ’s get told to have a handbook on what classes as a instant suspension and what doesn’t. Also having the chance in a handbook to give Recruits/Trainees a 2nd chance when it comes to abusing.
Overall, CO’s should get perms back to sanction. Give LS less tickets to answer making the response times quicker, get abusers sanctioned quicker. Just make the game fun again.
Would really like the old system back, the workload over at LiveShield is insane now and we just do not have the staffing for it, I prefered the old system anyways as people were more deterred to mess about and such as you would see less trolls which was really nice

Yes. And if the old sanctioning system was because Commissioned Officers were too strict, I think we all now understand the boundaries. And as you said, a guideline as to what classes certain punishments would furthermore fix this issue. It’s just annoying knowing that when I see a sanctionable thing happen in the game, I have to open a ticket and report them and wait a while whereas I could have just immediately sanctioned them in the first place myself. I’m not blaming LiveShield for any of this as it isn’t really their choice, but there’s been too many abusers ever since the new sanctioning change.

It’s getting to the point where LiveShield is agreeing, it’s crazy. If they believed Chief and Commissioned Officers were too strict, they could give them a new guide to go by, and not increase LiveShield’s workload by 10x- alongside this, LiveShield is too understaffed to deal with every single teams report combined. It took three days for one report to be handled by LiveShield. Alongside this, some LiveShield moderators are It’s getting to the point where LiveShield is agreeing, it’s crazy. Like LuciferdaAlpha666 said (a moderator themselves), LiveShield now favours the trolls. With the old system, there were a lot less trolls. There weren’t “harsh punishments” from Commissioned/Chief Officers- they were just stopping trollers. Once again, and I really want to reiterate this, if LiveShield members feel like we are sanctioning harshly, they can make a new set of rules for us, or get development involved to ensure that people know the rules.
For example- a rulebook in-game, or add links in the Game Rules Devforum post to the handbooks and necessary links.
Ok thanks bye

Liveshield didn’t think we were being strict, it was game leads

I agree especially because one of the main problems in the game is mis use of power by the RG. Rogue guards are a huge problem. They go around shooting innocent civilians and if the have zip-ties, cuffing civilians. The LS people can’t leave post if they are playing as RG, so they cannot properly punish these guards. A CO would make it a lot easier to punnish these guards, and other players in the game. I think this idea would decrease the amount of rogue guards. Since the new update, I have noticed a lot more guards abusing power.

Doubt this is going to change now as I believe there were a lot of discussions at the time on whether or not to change it.

Liveshield can leave post for mod issues, even as civ they are allowed to trespass into DS/BP/NSY or somewhere for moderation things

It’s not even the fact that LS are understaffed. They can’t listen to simple rules. Like what the hell, if someone shoots me but I don’t get damaged I couldn’t give a care in the world, they should be punished, disrupting gameplay or not. Last time I checked, trespassing guards that open fire is definitely disrupting and against handbook rules. Following on the handbook rules, they don’t even listen to the handbook. If a PaDP pulls me over, or a sniper pursuits me, Liveshield just say, “Just get a CO or RMP” but what good is that, if there’s none of those in the server? Liveshield act poorly and it’s getting more corrupt by the day. I couldn’t care less if the players are new, and if you sanction them, they’ll not want to play the game. I really couldn’t care. The rules are there for a reason, and Liveshield breaking the game rules, rules that they enforce, the game’s going to hell
Anyways, great suggestion @Puremanent_Poke, but to be realistic, LS never listen and we’ll probably never get the old system back.

Sad reality for this game

This isn’t Live Shield’s fault, so there is no point in getting mad at them. It’s the leads causing this issue, and I think a good majority of LS mods want the old system back as well.

Yes I agree with this all but LiveShield didn’t choose for this to be added it was chosen by Volute staff so don’t put the blame on them

It was never a good idea + you don’t know if they were speaking all about it considering it randomly came in with no notice to any players

It was an out of the blue change that completely wiped out all power from RMP, LAS, MPS, and RG officers.
When there is a public event, or simply a mass rule breaker you need dealt with, you need them to be dealt with fast. When officers could sanction, they were immediately dealt with. Now, we have to open a report and wait three days just for a reminder to be issued for unlawful murders and for them to do it again.
As bilbobob7 said, this is unlikely to be changed. The game leads imposed this new sanction system on us and LiveShield.

Not going to weigh in my opinions here completely, but they say that the only thing that can be sanctioned is if they’re disrupting gameplay, i understand it’s my job as a CO to capture rouge Royal Guards, but if they’re activley continuously leaving and rejoining just to avoid getting cuffed by me, then it’s disrupting my gameplay experience.
It’s gotten to the point everytime i go on civ, i get shot by a guard with a name like IHATECIVS101 and then 2 days later he’s still there doing the same thing. I understand that you want the game to be less strict and i’m all for that, but we need to come to a compremise where we can at least eliminate the trolls because it’s just not fun chasing around someone just for them to leave the game, and then waiting a day just for them to be handled.
simple way to stop the “buckinghampalacetroll123” sorts is just put a minimum age on accounts if they aren’t willing to revert the sanction system at least prevent people from just making a new account the second they get banned or sanctioned
oh na co’s dont need extra power now
