100 player server test feedback

In Content Update 3 Expansion 3, we introduced a 100 player server test, a server with double our current capacity.

If you have played on this server, we’d love to hear your feedback. Please participate in the below polls. You can also reply to this post with your thoughts.

We did experience a few issues in the rollout which are no longer present. Please do not take this into account when giving feedback, as it was a one-off and will not persist with 100 player servers.

How do you find the 100 player server?
  • It’s much better than the 50 player servers
  • It’s equally as good than the 50 player servers
  • I prefer the 50 player servers

  • The limit should be reduced to 75 players
  • The limit should stay at 100 players
  • The limit should be increased to 125 players (with testing to ensure stability beforehand)
  • The limit should be increased to 150 players (with testing to ensure stability beforehand)

As mentioned about how we can say our feedback here I would like to share some, I like how the idea of larger servers are structured so more players can get on a server but it is a literal nightmare for the CO team to handle that many people at once as there is simply way too many people to keep a track of when doing CO duties on either RG or MPS, so I like the idea but not really liked much by the RG and MPS CO’s and probably is not liked by RMP either

I do like the new 100 server as there’s at least 1 RG:CO, 1 MPS:CO and 1 moderator in it which is all you need if there are abusers in it. The only thing I would say is to add more posts for Royal Guards as there isn’t enough for them.

Eh even 1 RG and MPS CO and 1 mod aint enough due to all that goes on with 100 players

It creates more action, which is fun for a lot of people.

Except the lag issue, its great to have a more population. It makes the game kinda lively

generally its quite hilarious to play in 100 player servers theres rg’s goofing around and having parades. Cops are pursuing civilians, multiple close protection protecting and escorting the royals, civilians murdering people, although theres lag but if your pc is bad and lags in the 50 player server then you shouldnt play the game with it, but generally, i want it to be the norm, and should go up to 150 players with teh map expansion it creates a true image and with armed cops pulling up fighting the gangs but also the rg team and cop team capacity should go up

75 players would be better.

I normaly with roblox quality graphics on 4 I play on the 50 people server, I play at around 50 to 60 FPS, while on the 100 people server at that same conditions I play at around 15-20 FPS, which makes the game completely unblayable.
Yesturday I tried going on a LG shift with @Kevin_boost12 and it was completely uplayable, if I wanted to do a turn with the horse or speed it up a bit or even slow down, it would take ages.
I remember attending that Joint RG and MPS Specialists parade on a 250 people capacity server and the lag wasn’t even near the lag of these 100 player servers.
I’m a developer too for other roblox games and I see that that gigantic lag happends because of the cars.
In the joint parade, as there wasn’t any spawned cars, and it wasn’t lagging for me.
What I thing developers should improve to solve this lag is try solving the lag that the cars cause.
If developers solved the lag that all of the cars cause, there isn’t any problem in making the limit even bigger, to like, 125 or 150 players.

Also, the teams are fairly balanced now in my opinion. I love seeing loads of civilians.

I find the 100-player server update truly impressive. Usually, we have issues with many people stuck in loading screens, preventing a full experience even when 100 slots are open. However, now we can finally achieve a more authentic gameplay environment.

As someone who primarily plays as a civilian, I genuinely appreciate how this update enriches the criminality aspect. Interacting with more Metropolitan Police (MPS) officers and meeting new people significantly enhances the experience. I’ve also noticed an increase in LAS participation, likely due to the newly added helicopter. It seems that more players are encouraged to join the LAS team on these larger servers.

For the Metropolitan Police, I believe this update greatly improves opportunities to enhance communication and coordination during operations. Although I can’t provide detailed insights about the Royal Guard (RG), since that’s not my area of focus, I can see clear advantages for both Her Majesty (HM) and the Prime Minister (PM). They now have more room to execute various tasks and duties effectively.

Previously, Close Protection (CP), who are responsible for protecting the King and Prime Minister, were typically fewer in number compared to other roles. However, with this update, they’re better protected. This creates a genuinely challenging and engaging environment for those attempting to target them.

It takes me a long time to ziptie tresspassers as well, but it’s a 100 player server so I don’t mind.

You should try a 75 player server, because I think it would be better than 100 player server because a lot of people lag.

I feel like job slots should be doubled. I’ve personally noticed Civvie jobs fill up quickly on 100 player servers

Really be liking it since EVERY division is in the same server at the same time. Makes the game more fun and realistic.

the 100 player server test was impressive I have to say especially as there was not any significant laggyness that I personally noticed although granted im not exactly on the low end.

upping the server cap definitely improved gameplay as you were more likely to find a PM, CP officers, divisions and higher ups as well as there being more civilians which I personally think BP suffers from the lack of particularly in smaller servers.

personally I think experimenting with going larger would be interesting but not of course at the detriment to BPs players and moderation.

Although it can be pulled off great I don’t know if it is very plausible for stable game player and some great point made by @LuciferdaAlpha666 and additionally voice chat is a big thing for BP players and if it’s not usable on this big of servers than it will soon have its downfall

The server of 100 players is great, it prones more RP and more action in the server. It is very laggy though. I got kicked from one after a very big lag that the devs had to fix.

I got handcuffed then released before the lag that kicked me for a search authorised by an assistant commissioner. Then when i tried to rejoin as a CP, I got charged with LTAA for 34 minutes because of previous offences.

Overall it is a great idea, but for less capable PC such as mine it is very laggy and the crash caused me a 34 minutes sentence that was not necessary.

Having played the 100 player server, I have some feedback. I have positives and negatives:

Positives:

  • The 100 player server in my opinion was very good. I experienced little to no lag and I really did enjoy playing with friends.
  • Due to the server size, it did offer A LOT more roleplaying abilities and usage of teams such as the MET divisions and RG divisions.
  • It really did feel like a city game, everywhere I walked, drove and went, I could see different scenarios and situations. It made it feel like London as well as very active.
  • A final point I’ll make is the benefits of gameplay. It allowed for MET and RG divisions to perform their duties a lot more often and allowed for a nice and active playing experience. For us COs, both in MET and RG, it gives us a lot more freedom with what we’d like to do. For example, hosting a parade. Due to the team sizes, it offered us a lot more option of how we wanted to use our men.

Negatives:

  • Some people have experienced a lot of lag / an unpleasant time. I can partially agree to it, as when I drive cars at high speeds, it does lag at points and freezes a little bit.
  • It can make a lot more work for COs, it makes it a lot harder to overview everyone and supervise them.
  • Teams are pretty much always full, this isn’t really a negative thing per say, but not positive if you would wanted to play on a team like the MET police. Half the time, people on that team are afk or lollygagging around NSY. I believe to stop this issue, if you go AFK on the team for more than 10 minutes, you should be taken back to the menu.

Conclusion:
Overall, a very good and worthwhile experience, however it has a lot of changes to be made. I do think that 100 player servers should become the norm and be added to Buckingham Palace.

I really think that this 100 player server is great. There are loads of civilians, which makes it fun to play as MPS. However, COs and RMP will struggle quite a lot since they’ll have to manage a larger volume of users. I feel that a 75 player max server would be a better addition.
